THE POWER OF IDENTIFICATION WITH CHRIST

But God—so rich is He in His mercy! Because of and in order to satisfy the great and wonderful and intense love with which He loved us, even when we were dead (slain) by [our own] shortcomings and trespasses, He made us alive together in fellowship and in union with Christ; [He gave us the very life of Christ Himself, the same new life with which He quickened Him, for] it is by grace (His favor and mercy which you did not deserve) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation). And He raised us up together with Him and made us sit down together [giving us joint seating with Him] in the heavenly sphere [by virtue of our being] in Christ Jesus (the Messiah, the Anointed One). If you are not impressed with who you are in Christ, you haven’t seen Him lately.

What happened to Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection is FAR GREATER than anything else that has ever happened to you. (Romans 5:20)

When God raised Christ from the dead, He made you alive with Him so you now have the same identical life, same identical righteousness, same identical victory, same identical blessing, same identical inheritance, and same identical authority. As a matter of fact, you are one with Christ. You are joined to Him. (1 Corinthians 6:17)

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20
I identified myself completely with him. Indeed, I have been crucified with Christ…. (MSG)

Little I moved out, big Christ moved in. Weak I moved out, strong Christ moved. Defeated I moved out, victorious Christ moved in. Sick I moved out, healed Christ moved in. Poor I moved out, rich Christ moved in. Sense knowledge contacts the natural, but revelation knowledge shows the supernatural. When you see it in the Word, you can say, “I am who God says I am.” You identify or find yourself in the Word. Revelation knowledge is how God changes people’s identities.

In the new birth, you are not just a forgiven sinner. When you get born again, you become a brand-new creation in Christ Jesus. You are re-created! THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING! (2 Cor. 5:17) When you get born again, you get re-gened. You get a new DNA. There is a champion in your genetic line – His name is Jesus! You have been re-fathered by God. He is your very own father, and you are His child.

The center of the Gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. You can get anywhere you need to go from there when you see your identification with Christ. Everything God did in Christ, He did for you, and it is credited to your account as if you
did it. The key to the Gospel is in the prepositions – for, with, in, through, and by. They show substitution, identification, and union with Christ. God did In Christ what He wanted to do in every man. The Holy Spirit takes what God has done FOR you in Christ and makes it real IN you.
