December 2020 - GOD IS ABLE

TOP TEN PROMISES THAT RELEASE GOD’S ABILITY

When facing impossible situations, it’s important to know YOU are the believer and GOD is the performer.  Remember the great and mighty things He has done and then put your faith in His ability.

God has never said, “Uh-oh!” He always has a plan.  GOD IS ABLE!

Your belief system must be connected to your sound system.  Dr. Lilian B. Yeomans said it this way, “God has tied himself irrevocably to human cooperation in the execution of divine purposes. He has made man’s faith a determining factor in the work of redemption.”  Human cooperation begins with faith in your heart and is released with words of faith, such as: “I believe!”

Here is a list of 10 PROMISES THAT RELEASE GOD’S ABILITY.

  • And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord,” then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you (Matthew 9:28-29).

The moment they confirmed their belief by saying, “Yes, Lord” Jesus was able to open their blind eyes.  The first step to receiving their sight was to put their faith in Jesus’ ability.

God delights in His children stepping out over the aching void with nothing under their feet but the Word of God.  -Lillian B. Yeomans

  • For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless, I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that day (2 Timothy 1:12).

Paul said this after many difficult hardships. Have faith in God’s ability to keep what you’ve committed to Him.  He has never changed His mind about the people He has called or the gifts He has given. There is a day of reward coming. I like what Martin Luther, who was persecuted greatly for his faith, said: “There are two days in my calendar: This Day and That Day.”

There is an old song that expresses this well: It will be worth it all when we see Jesus! Life’s trials will seem so small when we see Christ. One glimpse of His dear face, all sorrow will erase. So bravely run the race ‘til we see Christ.

  •  Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them (Hebrews 7:25).

“Therefore, He is able also to save to the uttermost (completely, perfectly, finally, and for all time and eternity) those who come to God through Him, since He is always living to make petition to God and intercede with Him and intervene for them,” AMPC.

Trust God’s ability to save. Remember the Greek word for save is sozo, which includes healing, preservation, provision, soundness and deliverance. When we pray for others, we are partnering with God to save them. Jesus is the intercessor in heaven while the Holy Spirit helps us to intercede here in the earth.

  • For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted (Hebrews 2:18). He is able to aid those who are tempted.

“For because He Himself [in His humanity] has suffered in being tempted (tested and tried), He is able [immediately] to run to the cry of (assist, relieve) those who are being tempted and tested and tried [and who therefore are being exposed to suffering],” AMP.

The prodigal son left his father’s house and spent his inheritance on foolish living. He was living alone in a pig pen. When his money was gone, so were his friends.  One day he came to himself and decided to get up and go home. His father was watching for him to come home, just as he’d done since the day his son left.  Perhaps in his heart, the father heard the cry of his lost son, because when he saw the boy walking up the road, he ran to meet him.  When the Father God hears our cry for help, He is able to run to help us in time of need.

  • And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform (Romans 4:19-21).

Our God is a performer!  He is able to perform miracles.  Abraham received a promise from God that he would be the father of a great nation, but at 100 years of age he still had no heir.  It looked impossible.  But as he turned to God alone and began to praise the one who gave him the promise, His praise strengthened his ability to receive a miracle that turned back time and made him a father.  Abraham put his faith completely in God’s ability. God is able also to perform His promise to you today!

  • Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king (Daniel 3:17).

Three young Hebrew men were on trial for their stand for God.  They were thrown into the fiery furnace, but they had faith in their God’s ability to deliver them.  They proved that when you stand for God, He will stand for you!  Jesus walked into the fire with them and delivered them.  When they came out of the furnace they didn’t even smell like smoke!

  • Who are you to judge another’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand (Romans 14:4).

If God is for you, who can be against you?  Satan is the accuser, but Jesus is our Advocate and you can trust the power of His blood to make us stand.  That should make us reconsider accusing any child of God, no matter what they’ve done. You can be confident that the good work God has begun, He will bring to a full completion.

  • God is not only the author, but the finisher of your faith. “Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy (Jude 1:24).

One the day of Pentecost, Peter didn’t even mention his failure and that he denied Jesus three times.  He could have ended up in “preacher’s rehab,” but when he was baptized in the Holy Spirit, he stood up and preached the Gospel. Thousands were saved!  Jesus had kept him from falling and now he was doing exactly what Jesus said he’d do.  Jesus’ prayer brings the keeping power of God and ability to finish your course with joy.

  • And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work (2 Corinthians 9:8).

God’s ability will work in your finances, as it did for some of the poorest members of the church in Macedonia.  Because of their joy-filled generosity, they moved from extreme poverty into financial prosperity.  Instead of being the needy ones, God’s ability gave them the ability to give out of their abundance to help other churches.

  • Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20).

God desires to reveal His grace and great plan of redemption through the church. He uses ordinary people who take their place in Christ and are strengthened with the mighty power and love of the Holy Spirit. Smith Wigglesworth said, “We are commanded by God to be filled with the Spirit, and in the measure you fail of this, you are that far short of the plan of God.”  God is able do great and mighty things to and through anyone who is filled with His Presence.

November 2020 -  Pass the Breaking Point

CHARGED UP

While traveling through the airport, I looked high and low for a place to charge my cell phone. I noticed a group of people gathered around a station where you could plug in any model of phone for a quick energy charge.  Even though my phone had 100,000 different sources of information on it, none of them were useful if my phone ran out of power.  So, I pressed in to get my phone plugged in!

It is the same with a Christian.  We have limitless possibilities in Christ, but none work if our spirits are not charged up.  There is a gauge on cell phones that shows how much power the battery has.  Wouldn’t it be great if Christians had a power gauge on their foreheads?  When the power is low, faith, love and joy begin to get weak.  Cell phones usually need to be charged up daily.  God is the only self-energizing Being and we have to be charged continuously with the power that comes from Him.  I love Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 3:14-21.  This is a post-resurrection prayer every Christian should pray daily.

For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man; that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and depth and height; and to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fulness of God. Now unto Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Recognize the Power on the Inside

Most prayers we pray have to do with the things outside us, but this prayer in Ephesians 3 has to do with the inner man. “...even though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day,” 2 Corinthians 4:16.  When I was in San Diego, I noticed many buildings had cables running along the outside from the top to the bottom, corner to corner. When I asked why, I found out that these buildings had been built without proper reinforcements to preserve them from damage during an earthquake. They had gone back with the cables to strengthen these structures so they wouldn’t collapse.

The first thing Paul prays in Ephesians 3 is for our spirits to be strengthened.   There must be a reinforcing of the Holy Spirit to keep us from collapsing during difficult times. The Philips translation puts Ephesians 3:16 this way, “…and I pray then that out of the glorious richness of his resources he will enable you to know the strength of the Spirit’s inner reinforcement….”

 Passing the Breaking Point

The Greek word “Parakletos” is translated Comforter and gives a wonderful description one of the functions of the Holy Spirit.  His activity is to comfort (parakalein in the Greek).  It means to exhort or urge and the example given is a general who exhorts his troops who are about to go into battle.  He rallies and cheers them to fight, to accept the risk of battle.  He will give a speech to urge others on and put courage into the faint-hearted.  He is one who makes a very ordinary man cope gallantly with a perilous and dangerous situation. It is the kind of comfort and consolation in distress which keeps a man on his feet, when, left to himself, he would collapse. It is the comfort which enables a man or woman to pass the breaking point and not to break. (William Barclay)

There are four ways we can strengthen or charge our spirits.  (1) PRAY IN THE SPIRIT.  When we pray in the Spirit, we are speaking to God and are edified, built up, or charged (Jude 20; 1 Corinthians 14:2).  (2) FEED ON THE WORD.  Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.  Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God (Matthew 4:4; Romans 10:17).  (3) SPEAK THE WORD AND PRAISE GOD.  “Out of the mouths of babes and infants, you have established strength,” “perfected praise.” (Psalm 8:2; Matt. 21:16; Jeremiah 1:12, Joshua 1:8; Revelation 12:11) (4) SUPERNATURAL RELATIONSHIPS.  God has designed the body of Christ with “joints” and “ligaments” knit together for the supply of nourishment (Colossians 2:19; Hebrews 10:24,25)

Because of supernatural relationships and partnerships in Jesus’ ministry and in the early church great things were accomplished. Likewise, we thank God for you, our partners! Because of your financial and prayer support, lives are daily transformed by the Word received through books, television, the internet, social media and our MHM app.  Check out our new products on the insert included in this letter!  Ground is about to be broken for the new MHM Conference Center, which will host conferences and prayer.  Many who have been blessed from the Word distributed by MHM are contributing, and construction will soon begin! Many are giving $1,000 or any amount to help meet our remaining goal of $400,000. “And those who are taught the Word must share all good things with their teacher; a sharing of wealth takes place between them.” Galatians 6:6 (TPT).  This is our promise from Philippians 4:19: “My God shall supply all YOUR needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
